PNA America Announces the PNAA Leadership Fellows Program

About the PNAA Leadership Fellows Program

 

The PNAA Leadership Fellows Program is opened to all PNAA members and supports the leadership development of Filipino descent in the United States. Through education and mentorship, the program serves as a vehicle to engage and empower nurses who seek high-level careers in leadership and management, education and research.

 

The 2015 Fellowship runs from January 2016 through July 2016. Over the course of the year, Fellows will embark on a leadership journey to:

  • Listen with national leaders about their career path and the leadership lessons they have learned along the way;

  • Raise awareness of ethnic and cultural diversity;

  • Increase your own level of self-awareness and receive feedback from your peers, colleagues and immediate supervisor. 

  • Define leadership development goals and track progress towards these goals; 

  • Expand the professional network of stellar peers and mentors who can offer insight and guidance over the course of their careers;

  • Learn to effectively manage interpersonal relationships and how to hardwire accountability; 

  • Conduct a leadership project that will have regional/national/global impact.

 

Seminars

There will one face-to-face meeting that will be held in New York City (Date will be determined; all selected Fellows are expected to attend in person). Follow-up seminars will be held via GoToMeeting, A final celebration will take place in July 2016 during the PNAA Annual Convention. The program will be directed by Dr. Reynaldo R. Rivera.

  • Diversity and Inclusion

  • Strategic Analysis and Planning

  • Measuring and Improving Performance

Applications for the 2016 Fellowship are now available.   

 

Cost

PNAA will provide some assistance for each Fellow, for up to 4-5 Fellows per year, as funding is limited. Estimated cost: $2500 per leadership fellow.

 

Fellows Roles and Responsibilities

Once they complete the Fellowship Program, Leadership Fellows will serve as coaches, mentors, committee chairs, and ambassadors of the Leadership program of PNAA. They will be role models and committed to serving others and the Filipino community.

 

Application Process

Click here for the application which includes applicant information and application essays. You will also need to provide the names of two people along with their email, who will provide  recommendations. The two names must have had the opportunity to witness your leadership capabilities first hand. The committee will contact the individuals you identify to obtain their recommendations.

 

Application DueOctober 15th, 2015 at 12 midnight, EST. We will notify all 2016 candidates of acceptance decisions by November 15, 2015.
