Candidate’s Statement of Philosophy and Intent

Service - core of my affiliation with PNA/PNAA.

I was first introduced to PNA /PNAA at the 2000 National convention in Indianapolis where I became awe stricken by the collection of Filipino talents in one place. That first impression was the pivotal reason I became involved.

Thus, began my PNAA journey. In these past years, I tried to learn as much as I could about this organization and what I discovered had indelibly guided me in my journey as a nurse and as a person. It is this essence that I would like to cultivate among our members and chapters.  Understanding and discovery of our origins will propel PNAA to greater heights. My experience as an active local member/officer long before I sat on the national table as COP Leader and later on, as NCR COPRR, had given me a realistic view of these sentiments. Indeed our members and chapters clamor for their voices to be heard and are patiently waiting for results. I wish to be that voice of the chapters in our national discussions.

With PNAA, I wish to continue meaningful service to our Nursing communities all over the US and in the Philippines. I pledge to continue the image that I have come to expect from this organization and to continue to spread the virtue of service to others in various forms. The Medical missions, Educational offerings and wellness screenings organized regularly are all commendable. In addition, I would like to champion and focus service to our members and our chapters  by lending them my ears and my eyes and my heart. It is this kind of service that we need to re-discover and nurture among our members, if we have to survive as an organization in these fast changing times.
